Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

Lack of sidewalk in Salisbury Neighborhood

In most cases, this would be ok but since it’s in front of people’s houses this could affect accessibility. People who are living in these houses would have more trouble navigating this area since the only safe walkable sidewalk is on the other side of the street. This also gives fewer opportunities for those living on this side to bike or walk. At night this spot could also be dangerous since there's no sidewalk and there is also a lack of visibility. On the other hand, building a sidewalk on this side might not necessarily help. It will give more accessibility but it will also require tearing down nature in the process. This area also provides a green space so tearing it down could have effects in other ways.
