She remembers attending VMZ-organized social functions and going on trips with colleagues. She talks about the bus transport for workers provided by VMZ and comments on the reduced number of people from her village who work at VMZ. She compares her expectations of the democratic transition to the reality of the changes that have occurred, and comments on the hiring of workers from the Roma minority, participation in labor strikes, and salaries. She also reflects on hazardous work conditions, their effects on workers’ long-term health, and the future of workers at VMZ.
