The Remixed Archive
In this unit, we explore the ways in which archives change, evolve, and get transformed by the affordances of technology in enabling (prod)users to reuse and recombine existing elements in order to create something new.
What happens when we reinvent and reimagine a work to create something radically different? What transformative and subversive potentials does remix have? What does remixing the archive achieve, and what are the ethical limitations and boundaries of remix?
