MEDIA AND THE ARCHIVE: Motions and Transformations

Archives of Trauma & Transformation

Building on various discussions on theories of the archive, the everyday archive, the affective archive, and the remixed archive, this unit focuses on archives and historical trauma, as well as the role that digital technology plays in forming and transforming our understandings and experiences with history. We will think about how digital projects cut through archival silences and illuminate the shadows that form the unspoken foundations of these projects.
