LGBTQ+ Representation in Cinema

Lionsgate

Originally founded as Cinépix in 1962 by John Dunning and Andre Link, Lionsgate's first box office success was 2000's American Psycho. Lionsgate became known for its box office hits that were often considered to controversial for larger studios to release. Current Lionsgate hits include The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012) and La La Land (2016).

The data below shows the difference in total box office gross between each title released between 2016 and 2011. Some 2010 releases are included due to their continued gross into 2011. Films that have a red bar are films that have LGBTQ+ representation while films that have a blue bar are films without representation. Move the slider to navigate through the years and pay attention to the amount of theaters each title was released in as well as their total gross.
