Part 1: Interacting In Meaningful Ways
A. Collaborative (engagement in dialogue with others)
B. Interacting via written English (print and multimedia) Engage in short written exchanges with peers
and collaborate on simple written texts on familiar topics, using technology when appropriate.
This lesson was an extension of a required ELD lesson in the High Points book. The lesson focused on vocabulary and grammar and the teacher extended it to include digital content and an oral presentation.  It addresses the Global Collaborator ISTE Standard because students with different language backgrounds are able to collaborate on an assignment despite the language barrier.
Students were assigned groups according to a Kagan structure in combination with their ELD Level.  To give them a way to acquire information and knowledge, the teacher provided them a slide-by-slide account of what they needed to include. The digital resources gave them visuals, translations, and videos to help them access the required learning.
