The Abbey of La Trinité in Vendôme, France and the Cult of the Holy Tear: An Exploration of a Multi-Sensory Devotional Experience

The library of La Trinité was confiscated from the abbey during the French Revolution. The collection was  transferred to the public library nearly intact when Napoleon created public libraries in 1803. The library holds nearly 400 manuscripts, ranging from the tenth to the sixteenth centuries, 50 incunabula and 20,000 Early Modern printed books.
