Then to Stratford + visited Shakespeares house the old school and Ann Hathaways cottage Lunched at the Shakespeare Hotel + left at 2 for Shrewsbury via Bromsgrove Kidderminster + Bridgenorth. [sic] A good road narrow in places through a beautiful green rolling country with many fine extensive views Arr at 515 + got only fair rooms at the Raven but good table + service Jep walked in last 8 miles Many quaint old timbered houses here in the hilly streets. Run 70 miles. Sept 22 After breakfast all walked about town Everywhere are fine old timbered houses. Left at 1030. Beautiful
