Hedges too high of dirt + streets on top 6 to 12 feet The viburnum in full bloom along here and many large plants of fuschia [sic] in very gorgeous bloom. Many apple groves with trees so full the branches have to be supported. Have enjoyed the Devonshire cream on the apple tarts in the small Inns. These latter have been very comfortable their chief drawback being lack of light to read at night. Got a beautiful apt overlooking the bay at the Imperial just out of town. Jep + I took a walk along the cliffs above the Hotel. Many villas on the hillside above he town with fine luxuriant foliage about them. Torquay reminds me greatly of Cannes + is by far the most int.
