Went through Richmond to Windsor where we saw the gardens + St. Georges Chapel Then to Maidenhead + lunched at Riviera Hotel on Thames. Then to Oxford via Henley Pretty drive but saw few fine houses. Fine windy cool day. At Oxford drove about town + then to Clarendon Hotel + got S.R. with fine and comfortable but noisy rooms 30s Then al walked through many college quadrangles + Jep + I took long walk along the river. Run 55 miles. Sept 20 Fine cool day Attended C.S. church in a music hall. At 2 left via Banbury. Beautiful green rolling country Went through Warwick stopped at Guys Cliff + on to Kenilworth. Castle grounds not open on Sunday. Then back to Leamington + got S.R. + good rooms
