Got a good landau + pair in P.M. + drove for 2 hours around the basins through the business section and along the river. The planting + arrangement of the flowers in the gardens of the residences facing the outer basin are the finest I have ever seen. In its number of parks + water courses overhung by beautiful trees Hamburg is unique. I know of no other city like it. Geraniums of all shades, predominate for vases + window boxes. Jep + I walked through the beautiful botanical garden afterward. Dined in rest. Few in evening dress. July 27 Went to Am Ex Found car had not been unboxed so the manager went with Jep + Jack + took car to garage after passing custom house In P.M. we got papers at Ex Co Tryptych for Germany
