German lady in Hotel told us she had seen an official telegram saying the order for mobilizing the reserves would be issued this afternoon when all the trains would be seized by Govt + this afternoon would be last chance to reach Berlin until after mobilization. Decided it would be better for ladies to remain here to await events. Jep anxious for excitement took train at 240 PM for Berlin. Have very good rooms + table here. Large porch with flowers opening off salon Drove about city + parks in PM but too anxious about war to enjoy it. Wired home + Paris bankers but had to send it in German. Aug 2 Went to Christian Service church a new building on Hedwig Strasse Service in German Good attendance. N. felt a little
