Some one began to speak in front of Hotel demanding the name "Bristol" be removed and soon several thousand people collected + cheered him + hissed the Hotel. Manager telephoned for the police who came + preserved order but the crowd would not disperse Finally against the managers protest the large rug from the entrance hall was taken up stairs + hung over the balcony on first floor covering the name and the crowd then quietly dispersed. The Empress went by in an open Auto about ten and received a great ovation
