Many small parks, still as carefully kept as through there was no war. Trolleys run on turf section bordered with flowers + grass kept beautifully. Boulevards usually have such a trolley section a wide road for autos 2 narrow roads for slow vehicles + a saddle path After we returned we ordered 2 boxes of eatables + drinkables on Friedrich str. 27 1/2 marks enough for several days. N. did considerable shopping in buying nicknacs the first presents she has bought N.Y. papers now on sale here of the 10th the first outside papers since the war began. Aug 26 Shopped with N in A.M.
