We learnt about the historical evolution of the urban space, from marshes, to ghetto for the indigenous population (hence the current name India Street), to the initial population of Italian fishermen at the beginning of the 20th century, to their support for Our Lady of the Rosary church, to the booming tuna fishing industry, to its later downfall and eventual downsizing of the community as a result of the construction of I-5, to its regeneration and success as an ethnic theme park.
