Crime organizations became a realistic way to make money and move up the ranks giving better opportunities. We see throughout the 20’s until now racial diversity became quite common in the mob; a common theme seen throughout the two films. This was away to expand and make more of a profit not only did it bring stability financially it allowed for stability in the organization. Although non-Italian members could only work up to position of soldier and never become a full-fledged member they still brought a sense of security and each role played an important part.
