Italians in Hollywood
Actors and actresses such as Al Pacino, John Travolta, Stanley Tucci, Marisa Tomei, Anabella Sciorra, Sylvester Stallone, and Frank Sinatra are all of Italian ancestry and have all made significant impacts in their roles in Hollywood.
These actors and actresses have become symbolic with their roles, and have made impacts on Italian-American culture. Italian immigrants often faced negative stereotypes, horrible living conditions, and had to deal with the question of assimilation. For decades Italians were looked down on and there were not many Italian figures to look up to. These actors and actresses changed that. They appeared in roles that made viewers proud to be Italian, or people wishing that they were Italian. These actors strengthened the ethnic identities for Italian-Americans. This book will illustrate the lives of 7 of the most influential and important Italian-American actors and actresses. I will share their life, the roles that helped make them famous, and how they left an impact on the Italian-American community
