Context: In the Writing Center as a WC Specialist and talking amongst other WC specialists/director/supervisor, on the clock.

Scenario 1:

[Beginning of a shift, walking in to sit amongst my Writing Center colleagues]

Sal*: “How are you doing? How’s it going?

Me (casually): “I’m good, but jeez my eczema is flaring pretty badly."
 → Notes:

Scenario 2:

[the group is having conversations both amongst themselves and towards the entire room which includes the center’s director, and other specialists]
Mark: “How’s everyone, how was the weekend?”

*Everyone mutters an answer*

*After a while I speak up.*

Me (eager): “Today I found out CCSD gave me a full Pell grant that came from the covid relief funds. I need to know why they won’t just give teachers wages, and where does the money come from anyway?"
