Months after taking office, President Harry S. Truman had the bravery that no regular man would have had in making those decisions. The Primary source shows the speech the President made sixteen days after the Hiroshima attack. In the statement, he explained in a very detailed way the purpose and the results of developing and launching the bomb. He also states the consequences of breaking the U.S trust and tell how they won the race for the Atomic development 

Besides his impressive explanation, president Truman expresses his sincere gratitude and proudness to the whole country. Not only the scientists, who played the most critical role in this discovery (atomic research), development, and the usage of this dangerous weapon, were adulated by the president, but also the whole industrial and working area of the country. The availability of the resources, courage, and nationalism was the reason this of the project’s success.
