Central African Art

Central African art and culture affects the lives of their citizens, which is important for one’s understanding of this diverse region. Visual, performing, and literary arts demonstrate how countries find entertainment, seek forms of expression, and establish other means of education. These forms of art that externally portray the culture of Central Africa for other nations beyond the countries’ borders. Visual arts such as masks, sculptures, and movies will be explored in order to appreciate Central African culture and understand different aspects of their history. Literary arts will include discussion of books and poems that express various stories shared through the citizens’ lives and how they put their feelings into words. Finally, performing arts will consider theater, dance, and music to call attention to how Central Africans entertain themselves as well as how they utilize other ways to illustrate their emotions.
