Phil Ethington interviewed Shulman in his 1949 Studio and Residence (Rafael Soriano, architect) in 2005, with the specific purpose of explicating these images. These brief audio files were edited by Ethington from much longer recordings, for the purposes of brevity and focus in the exhibit.
"I'll be happy to sit down and talk with you for a while.." Julius Shulman practices his speech for the opening of the Getty Research Institute Exhibition on his 95th birthday, (born 10/10/1910), in 2005.
