- 2015: all schools in Los Angeles Unified and San Francisco City Schools offer ethnic studies courses
- 2015-present: Amanda Martinez-Morrison, a professor of Chicano and Latino Studies at SSU and North Bay Organizing Project member, has been working to help design curriculum for Santa Rosa City Schools' ethnic studies pilot course
