Building T-316: CCC Administration Building

Built: 1936

Function during the CCC era: Administration Building. From construction until 1942, this Cape Cod- style structure served as as the central location from which Corps projects were assigned and supported by a large staff of officers and clerical workers. A nearby temporary building to the west housed WUBL, the Fort’s radio operation.

Current function: After WWII, it was utilized as a headquarters and armory by the Montana National Guard and for a brief period in the late 1970’s as offices for the National Center for Career Education. In 2000 the Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History began restoration of the structure, and it now serves as their central exhibit building.
