His research focuses on contemporary audiovisual media, intersecting the fields of narrative and cognitive film theories. Published in anthologies and academic journals (Scope, Senses of Cinema, Acta, Necsus, New Cinemas, Projections), he is an editorial board member of [in]Transition, the first peer-reviewed academic journal of videographic film studies. Currently he is at work on a book about contemporary complex cinema (with Steven Willemsen, Edinburgh UP, forthcoming in 2016).
