Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. (lt.) was best known for his role in the defense of O. J. Simpson. In 1978 he was the first black assistant district attorney in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. His father, Johnnie L. Cochran Sr. (rt.), was an insurance salesman for Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company for over 29 years.
