Critical Map of Koreatown

Our critical map is based on everyday people who live, work, and represent Koreatown community. This map was created through Google Maps because it would facilitate access to it by a wide audience. Also, because it is easy to navigate through and helps to showcase a critical view of Koreatown.  We specifically chose to focus on public transportation, shops, banks, Solair residence, and the Cinema Make Up school because these help people understand what Koreatown is.

Public transportation in Koreatown is important because it facilitates the transportation of  people who live in the East side of Los Angeles and the West side of Los Angeles. Also, it is in public transportation that one can see the diversity of people who live in Los Angeles. The beauty shops in Koreatown along with the Cinema Make Up school in a way sell to the public the ideal standard for beauty. Other shops such as Verizon and the shops found in Madang Plaza help to establish the idea of consumerism. The banks and Solair Residences represent the amount of capital that flows through the city.
