Rev. Russell Garfield Flagg

The Rev. Russell G. Flagg was born on 4 August 1899 in Chicago, the son of Floyd and Winifred (Mulcron) Flagg. He attended Racine College and received a Ph B from De Paul University, then graduated from General Tehological Seminary in 1935. He was a chaplain and later teacher at the St. Kent School from 1935 to 1940. He then became a chaplain at Northwestern University from 1940 to 1943. From there he was called to be rector of Trinity Church in Michigan City from 1943 to 1950. He moved to Terrell, Texas, as rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd from 1951 to 1964, then became rector of St Matthias Church in Athens, Texas, from 1964 to his retirement in 1967. He moved to Florida and died in Davenport, Florida in 1978. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery there.
