Rev. Rush Spencer Eastman

Rev. Rush Spencer Eastman was born in Owego, Tioga County, New York, on 31 January 1845, the son of Hiram Newton and Mary Guyon (Curtis) Eastman. He was ordained to the diaconate in 1872 and the priesthood in 1873 by Bishop Whitaker. He married Charlotte Ella Metcalfe on 23 October 1877 in New York, and then moved west to Gold Hill, Nevada, where he took charge of St. John's Church. He continued to do missionary work there and from 1880 to 1883, served as rector of St. George's Church, Austin, Nevada. He moved eastward in 1883 to tale charge of St. Paul's, La Porte, Indiana, where he served until 1886. He left there to become rector of All Saints Church in Lower Dublin, near Philadelphia, in 1886. He died in Andalusia, Pennsylvania, on 19 January 1911.
