Thanks for your patience during our recent outage at scalar.usc.edu. While Scalar content is loading normally now, saving is still slow, and Scalar's 'additional metadata' features have been disabled, which may interfere with features like timelines and maps that depend on metadata. This also means that saving a page or media item will remove its additional metadata. If this occurs, you can use the 'All versions' link at the bottom of the page to restore the earlier version. We are continuing to troubleshoot, and will provide further updates as needed. Note that this only affects Scalar projects at scalar.usc.edu, and not those hosted elsewhere.

He immigrated to America in 1906 and married at Chicago, on 12 March 1911 Rosetta Tedeschi. A Methodist lay reader, he moved to Indianapolis and established a church in 1912. He later moved to Gary in 1915, spearheading a petition to Bishop White for the establishment of an Italian mission there. The result was St Antonio's Italian Mission, founded in 1917. He was ordained to the diaconate later that year. By 1922, the mission was mired in debt and it closed in 1927. Accomando moved to Utica, New York, where he was living as late as 1940.
