Moses Clement Stanley was born 11 January 1826 in New Hampshire, the son of John Allen and Elizabeth (Clatterbuck) Stan(d)ley. He married Sarah Peabody Pease on 24 June 1849. He was ordained to the diaconate in 1874 and served St. Paul's Mishawaka from 1874 to 1876. He then moved to St. John's, Bristol, where he served from 1877 to 1881, serving concurrently as rector of St. John's, Elkhart. In 1880 he resided in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and in 1900 in Detroit. He died in Detroit on 8 August 1904 and was buried in Ann Arbor.
