Rev. Louis Thibou Scofield

The Rev. Louis T. Scofield was born in Angelica, New York, in 1874, the son of the Rev. Michael Scofield and wife Matilda (Thibou). He was ordained to the diaconate in 1900 and the priesthood soon after, and his first missionary station was in the area of Plattsburgh, New York, in 1902. He married Gertrude Philips. He came to the Diocese of Michigan City in 1908, serving as rector of St. Mary's, Delphi, until 1910, and then becoming rector of Trinity, Logansport, from 1911 to 1914. He later returned to New York, serving at Owego in 1920 and Schenectady in 1925. In 1930 he was in Bridgeport, Connecticut, but came to New Windsor, New York, in 1932. He spent the remainder of his career there, dying in 1952 and buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor.
