John Cole McKim was born in Osaka, Japan, on 30 Nov. 1881, the son of the Rev. John McKim, missionary and later Anglican Bishop of Tokyo, and wife Ellen Augusta (Cole). His education is not known, but he was in Logansport briefly in 1910 as an interim rector of Trinity Church. He married Elizabeth Mary Howard on 29 September 1910 in Jay, New York. He returned to Japan as a missionary in 1914, but was in Washington, D.C., between 1917 and 1918. He later moved to Peekskill, New York, where he became a writer. He died in 1952.
