Rev. James Donald Manning

The Rev. James D. Manning was born in Washington, D.C., on 27 September 1937. In 1940 he was living with his grandparents, John and Pearl Manning. He was a graduate of California State University at San Jose and the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 1972. He was ordained a deacon and priest the same year. He began his career as vicar of St. Philip's Church in Portland, Oregon, where he served from 1972 to 1974. He moved to Boston as vicar of Saints Augustine and Martin Church, where he remained until 1976. He came to Gary as rector of St, Augustine's and served until 1983. He then went to Buffalo as rector of St. Philip's Church, and later was rector of St, Mary the Virgin in Baltimore. He later became rector of St. Gabriel's Church in Hollis, New York, and in 2008 became rector of St. Peter's Church in Rosedale, New York, He died in Rosedale on 24 December 2011.
