George Davis Adams was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on 13 January 1854, the son of Daniel M. and Julia Ann (Davis) Adams. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1883 by Bishop W. C. Doane. He came to Marion, Indiana, from New York in 1887 and served as rector of Gethsemane until 1890. That year on 8 April, he married Bertha Bohun Devereux. He left Marion to become rector of St. Paul's Church in Riverdale, Illinois, where he remained at least through 1910. By 1920 he lived in Port Townsend, Washington, and died in 1924 with burial in Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park in Seattle.
