Rev. Frederick Towers

The Rev. Frederick Towers was born in New Brunswick, Canada, on 20 December 1853. He received a BA degree in 1877 and married Florence I. Desbrow in St. John's. He graduated from Harvard in 1885, served briefly as a prison chaplain in Thomaston, Maine, and that same year came west to Indiana to become rector of St. James, South Bend. He remained there for two years, departing in 1887 for St. Mary's Church in Daytona Beach, Florida. By 1900 he was rector of St. Peter's Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He died suddenly on 28 September 1924 in the rectory of St. James Church, My Lady's Manor, Maryland, and was buried in St. Matthew's Episcopal Cemetery, Hillsborough, North Carolina.
