Rev. Frederick Murray Clayton

The Rev. F. Murray Clayton was born in Indianapolis on 11 February 1886, the son of William W. and Alice (Benson) Clayton. He began his career as a salesman, and between 1910 and 1920 he lived variously in Grand Rapids and Flint, Michigan, as a salesman for the Daily Mail and of automobiles. He was ordained to the priesthood in the 1920s and came to East Chicago as rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd in 1925. He stayed two years, and by 1930 was rector of St. Mary's Church in Pittsburgh. He later moved to Los Angeles, where he died in 27 July 1954,
