Rev. Forrest Bowley Breckinridge Johnston

The Rev. Forrest B. B. Johnston was born in Belvidere, Illinois, the son of Oscar and Alwilda Veria (Drummond) Johnston. The father was a mill owner and a native of Sweden. Forrest graduated from Belvidere High School and Nashotah House seminary. He spent a year in Hartland, Wisconsin, and four years in Philadelphia before coming to Marion, Indiana, in 1913, as rector of Gethsemane. He remained there 18 years, dying of cancer on 31 March 1931. He also served as vicar of nearby St. Paul's Church in Gas City. His body was returned to Illinois for burial in Belvidere Cemetery.
