Rev. Ernest William Scully

The Rev. Ernest W. Scully was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on 30 December 1901, the son of Peter Haggart and Elizabeth (Huseby) Scully. He immigrated to the U.S. with his mother in 1912 and settled in Milwaukee, where he was enumerated on the federal census in both 1920 and 1930. In 1933, he was rector of St. Mark's Church in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Two years later he came to the Diocese of Northern Indiana as rector of St. James Church in Goshen. He stayed three years, departing in 1938 for St. Ann's Church in Morrison, Illinois. He later moved to California as rector of the Church of the Holy Nativity in the Westchester section of Los Angeles, and then in 1956 became rector of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Placentia. He died in Los Angeles on 6 January 1983 and was buried from St. George Church in Laguna Hills. He was interred in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside.
