Linford Eyrick was born in Newark, New Jersey, on 4 July 1920, the son of Hugh Peter and Elizabeth Hobbis (Heeb) Eyrick. He graduated from Hobart College in 1945 and General Theological Seminary in 1948, the same year he was ordained both a deacon and priest. He married Ethelwyn Bartlett on 14 October 1950. He began his career as curate and then priest-in-charge of Grace Church in Newark from 1948 to 1950. He then moved to Martha's Vineyard to become rector of a parish from 1950 to 1951. From there he moved to St. Mark's Church in Hoosick Falls, New York, from 1951 to 1956. He was called as rector of St. Paul's Church in La Porte in 1956 and remained until his retirement in 1992. He held many diocesan offices, including membership on the Standing Committee and the Bishop's Cabinet and was several times a delegate to the General Convention. He died in La Porte on 22 May 1995.
