Anson Clark was born on 10 December 1806 in Waterbury, Connecticut, the son of John Lines and Mary (Munson) Clark. He married Sarah Emeline Pritchard on 12 April 1827. He was in Ohio in 1837, when he organized an Episcopal church at Wakeman. Later he was rector of St. Andrew's Church in Elyria. He came to Indiana in 1844, serving at Delphi from 1844 to 1845 and at Logansport from 1845 to 1846. From there he moved to Illinois. He was rector of a church at Rockford, when he resigned for health reasons in 1860. He was enumerated on the census that year in Dement, Illinois. By 1870 he had settled in Medina, Ohio, where he died on 19 November 1876. He is buried in Old Medina Cemetery.
