Rev. Alexander Eberhardt Pflaum

The Rev. Alexander E. Pflaum was born in Philadelphia on 15 October 1886, the son of Alexander E. and Marie (Hertkorn) Pflaum. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1907 and did his theological study at Nashotah House, graduating in 1915. He was ordained a deacon in 1914 and a priest in 1915. He began his career at St. James Church in Mosinee, Wisconsin, in 1915, and then moved to St. Boniface in Chilton, where he remained until 1921. He moved from there to Christ Church in Franksville, Pennsylvania, and in 1927 became rector of St. Andrew's in the Valley Church in Pennsylvania, where he remained only briefly. In 1928, he came to Valparaiso, Indiana, to take charge of St. Andrew's Church. He also had charge of the Church of the Good Shepherd in East Chicago. He gave up both positions in 1936 and returned to Chilton, Wisconsin and the rectorship of St. Boniface, which he held until his death. He died in Chilton in his sleep on 26 November 1947. He was buried in Hillside Cemetery there.
