Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody (1922+1924)
O'Neill's final book of tunes, arranged by Selena O'Neill for piano, published the remainder of O'Neill's transcriptions. He became unsatisfied by the 1922 edition, and destroyed his remaining copies before publishing a revised and enlarged edition in 1924. O'Neill noted in a letter to Rev. Francis Donnelly on November 22, 1924:
Today I mailed you copy of an enlarged
and somewhat revised edition of Waifs + Strays
of Gaelic Melody. Circumstances did not favor
the compilation of the 1st Ed. to my satisfac -
tion. What was left of it, I destroyed as the
new edition came to hand.
