Overall, the National Arts Centre was key in providing Canada an architecture identity.  Vincent Massey, Gordon Hamilton Southam and Fred Lebensold were the main characters in the construction of this incredible building. Although, the building was a masterpiece, it was a necessity to restore the building according to the Capital. Diamond Schmitt Architecture won the chance to rejuvenate the NAC, but unsuccessfully instigate the same path as the original vision.
