We need to begin performing forestry practices, and lumber usage that support wood yield and ecosystem health. Ways to do this include broadening the species market, using wood sparingly in designs with durable construction (so it can last the amount of time it takes to grow a new tree, or longer), and build for disassembly so the wood can easily be reused or repurposed.
