The hotel plan was perfect for accommodating the deposed officers who started to gather here on September 8, 1933

The plan was also ideal for running an efficient modern hotel. The two wings that intersected on each side provided a layout that allowed for a maximum of rooms to have windows that provided views of the city and ocean. Common for hotel plans at the time, the Hotel Nacional boasted double-loaded corridors with guest room bathrooms grouped together to allow for a more efficient plumbing system.
