Social Life/Privacy

Although there was some space between houses, it wasn’t enough to have real privacy. It felt necessary for most residents to join the community in order to escape loneliness, however this often meant neighbors becoming too involved in each other’s lives. Women assumed the lead of developing a social life, which follows their domestic role, while men left to work in the city. They took part in bridge games and other similar gatherings.
