Open Air Atrium

The open air atrium allows air flow into the house, keeping it connected to the outdoors, as well as opening the house to the sky so that there is natural light. The break in the ceiling gives the atrium and foyer a sense of being both outdoors and indoors at the same time so that when the family or guests enter the house they aren't cut off from the surrounding landscape. There is no clear separation between outside and inside.
