Curvilinear Pattern

William Levitt designed the community to clearly differ from the city. Instead of a grid-like design, the streets in the Levittown community are arranged in a curvilinear pattern. The road patters were designed to impede traffic and break up sight lines. The relatively large plots of land, measuring 70 x 100 feet, differentiated this suburban community from the city as well. There was a large emphasis put on the green spaces, which offered homeowners peace and tranquility not available in the city.
