Mandatory Assignments-II
This week's readings focus on the selfie as a symptom, if not a form, of social and even mental disorder. Using the week's readings as a jumping off point, compose a reflective "essay" on your own selfie habits, and how they affect your personal and social lives. You are free to agree or disagree with the authors, but but sure to explain why.
The reflective essay can take any form: it can be a written text (not more than 1000 words), or it can take an audiovisual form, either as a short video or even a self-executatble slideshow (not more than 5 mins) that merges text, image and sound.
However, in each case you are expected to write/speak around images. This exercise is not as much about technical ability, as it is about rationale and rhetoric. However, the chosen form should be integral to the argument or rhetoric.
Also, be mindful of the fact that you are composing for an audience (your class) that is thinking deeply about these issues alongside you. We will be using your composed pieces to kickstart our discussion for the class.
