CHAPTER TWO

Chapter two gives a brief biographical sketch focussing on the traumatic events in Frida Kahlo’s life that surface in the selected artworks. It investigates her art as an assertion of visual images as representative of trauma and the abject. A personal evaluation of specific works is given in order to understand the affective appeal in her works.
